The Detail

What One-to-One Training at SEAL Personal Training actually looks like

Most people arrive having tried the alternatives. A commercial gym membership that quietly went unused. An app that told them what to do but never watched them do it. A class where the coach was too far away to notice their back rounding. One-to-one training solves a specific problem: it puts a qualified coach in front of you for the whole session, every session.

Your first four weeks

The first session is about assessment as much as training. We look at how you move, where you’re tight or weak, and what your history is, then build the programme from there. Weeks two to four establish the core lifts and the habits around them, including sleep, protein and step count, because these usually matter more than any single exercise choice.

How the programme progresses

Everything is tracked. Loads, reps, how sessions felt. Progression is planned rather than guessed, which is what separates structured coaching from simply turning up and working hard. When life interferes, and it always does, the plan adapts rather than collapses.

NUTRITION INCLUDED

Food planning support comes as part of the programme. Not a rigid meal plan you’ll abandon in a fortnight, but practical guidance built around what you actually eat, who you cook for and how often you eat out.

Who trains one-to-one with us

  • Regular training with direct access to your coach

  • Athletes preparing for their next event or season

One-to-one coaching is genuinely for everyone - because the programme is built around you, not the other way around.

I've been having one-to-one sessions with Ali and they've been really helpful. He takes the time to understand my goals and tailors each session to suit them. He's focused, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I've noticed steady progress and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for Personal Training.

I worked with Kalvin for a few sessions and he was fantastic. Kept me motivated and having fun with it whilst giving me the knowledge and expertise to reach my goals.

I've been doing one-to-one PT sessions with Ali and the Seal Team for the past 5–6 months. As a 47-year-old who spent most of his adult life prioritising work over fitness, I'd accumulated all the usual “benefits” that come with ageing.

FAQs

1:1 training questions

What happens in the free consultation?

We sit down properly: your training history, any injuries, what your week actually looks like, and what you want out of this. You’ll see the studio and meet the coach you’d be working with. No cost, no obligation to sign up afterwards.

How many sessions a week do I need?

Most one-to-one members train once or twice a week with us and follow a plan for the rest. Some train three or four times. We’ll be straight with you about what your goal actually requires rather than selling you sessions you don’t need.

Do you help with nutrition and food planning?

Yes, it’s included. Training only accounts for part of the result, so we build food planning support into every one-to-one programme, at whatever level of detail suits you.

I’ve never trained before, or I’m coming back after an injury. Is 1:1 right for me?

It’s the best place to start. You get a coach’s full attention for the whole session, so technique gets corrected as it happens and the programme is written around your limitations rather than ignoring them.

We currently coach members from complete beginners to an 82-year-old working on strength and mobility.

How much does One-to-One Personal Training cost?

Pricing depends on how many sessions a week you want and how long you commit for. We’ll go through the options at your consultation so you can see the full picture before deciding anything.

Can I train early in the morning or late in the evening?

Yes. The studio runs 6:30am to 9:00pm, seven days a week, and scheduling flexibility is one of the main reasons people choose one-to-one over a fixed class timetable.
